Renovation of a three-room apartment with mezzanine in Bardonecchia

OWNER'S REVIEW

"We dreamed of a house with an “alpine design” and with this “search key” we discovered, via the internet, the designs of the architect Longanizzi.

The Studio managed to transform our ideas first into a project carefully studied down to the smallest detail, adapting it to our every further request, and then into a suggestive and welcoming environment. The materials, furnishings and lighting have been meticulously researched in order to combine contemporaneity, tradition and harmony with nature and the surrounding mountains. The realization of the project was entrusted to expert and very helpful craftsmen.
We would like to thank the entire team for the time and effort dedicated to us and for the renovation carried out.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

We are in Bardonecchia, in a complex of recently built and charming chalets; the complex enjoys a splendid view of the Melezet mountains and the old town. The project was partial, consisting of renovating the bathroom, the kitchen located under the stairs, and the staircase connecting the ground floor to the mezzanine.
The biggest challenge was to simultaneously rethink the staircase and the kitchen, creating a functional layout that made the most of every inch possible, with a linear and light design.
The new furnishings and staircase were made of larch, seeking a wood that would complement the existing beams and structure of the mezzanine.
The project also included replacing all the wooden flooring; the choice fell on larch with a hazelnut-colored antique finish and natural oil finish. Underfloor heating was installed to better distribute heat throughout the rooms.
The bathroom's layout has been completely redesigned, including the creation of a separate laundry area. The bathroom has been resin-coated and features Luserna stone-effect stoneware flooring.
The shower features a unique shower tray made from the same material as the floor. A detailed lighting design was developed for all the ground-floor spaces, aimed at highlighting the features of the rooms and providing excellent lighting.
