RENOVATION OF A TWO-LEVEL APARTMENT IN SAUZE D'OULX
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
Design Alpino has created a comfortable and functional accommodation inserted in its characteristic mountain context of Sauze d’Oulx, in Piedmont, following the owners' request to obtain a house to live in all year round, not a second home to be used only on weekends. The completely revised distribution has defined environments of great charm and very exclusive, and the result is a completely rejuvenated property, a new home, where new means new relationships with the landscape, new conception of light, new use of materials.

Overall, the accommodation has undergone a major renovation which involved a total redistribution of the internal space on two levels: on the first level there is the living area; on the second level, the sleeping area. On the first level there are therefore the following destinations: the entrance equipped with a wardrobe, the service bathroom, the living room and the kitchen. On the second level a study area, a complete bathroom, three bedrooms, a small walk-in closet and a storage room. The flooring of the entire first level was made with large format porcelain stoneware tiles, while, on the upper floor, there is a different scenario with the surfaces covered with brushed oak slats with an oil finish. The ladder is a 6 mm thick folded iron sheet covered in white resin, embedded in the wall and hung from the attic above with a single tie rod at the first step.
The furnishings, modern and with essential lines, dress the environment in such a way as to make the most of every little space and blend perfectly with the environment. Here then, in the living room, of modest dimensions, the following furnishing elements find space: an extendable dining table with white painted brushed wooden legs and kerlite top, while, as seats, there are two custom-made chests; the wood used is fir. On the rest of the perimeter there are seats with a white polypropylene shell and a beech wood and iron base, corner sofas, one of which is a bed element, and a gas fireplace.
